Enrolling as a Community Partner
Individuals pre-approved as a community partner may enroll in Social Impact SI 210 Creative Civic Engagement, a 4-credit undergraduate course. Credits earned may be eligible for transfer to a student's home institution (if applicable) to earn credits towards their degree. Prior to enrollment, please check with your home institution to ensure the course you wish to take at Emerson will be applicable and transferable to your degree program.
Who is Eligible?
Students enrolling in Undergraduate courses must be an adult age 18 or older and possess a high school diploma or G.E.D.. Students interested in enrolling must be pre-approved by Academic Affairs.
How do I Enroll?
Step 1: Complete the "I am a New User" form to create your account. This will grant you initial access to enroll on the professional.emerson.edu website.
Step 2: Professional Studies staff will update your account to enable permission for you to self-enroll in the course and notify you via email.
Step 3: Login to your account You will see the following area to enter your username and password:
Step 4: Add the course section to your shopping cart. In your shopping cart, proceed through the checkout process following the onscreen instructions.
Step 5: After your registration is complete, you will receive:
- an email from Emerson's IT Help Desk entitled "Emerson College - Activate your account" which will enable you to set up your permanent student account and password to access the College's online services and your Emerson email account. From this point forward, you will use your new official Emerson credentials to log in to this registration website as well as all Emerson services you may access as an officially enrolled student.
- an email confirmation of your enrollment in the course including details on class meeting dates, times, and location
Step 6: As an enrolled student taking an on-campus course, you will need to obtain an Emerson ID card which will grant you access to your classroom building. If you enroll in additional courses in the future, your ID card will be activated for your use during each semester of enrollment.
Will courses appear on a Transcript?
Yes, all credit-bearing courses taken through Emerson's Professional Studies department will appear on an official Emerson transcript available through the Registrar's Office or on an unofficial transcript viewable through your Professional Studies Student Portal. Once you have enrolled in courses, you will have access to your Student Portal account to view your course history, grades, and much more.
